Almost 80 Explorers, Networkers and Leaders from across the five Districts of West Region have returned from taking part in a trip to Nepal.
They were there to work in Kathmandu helping rebuild classrooms at two primary schools devastated by an earthquake in 2015.
They also refurbished playground equipment, painted colourful murals for the children and even helped the children with their basic English and Maths lessons.
Having achieved what they had set out to do by the end of the first week they continued with more repair work. This meant even more buildings were able to be painted.
They dug out old paths and painstakingly laid new ones. They used hundreds of gallons of paint and more than 10 tonnes of bricks, sand, stones, and cement was carried by hand across both sites.
They also took time to see the local sites and enjoy the scenery before travelling home.
