Everton campsite had some special helpers on site in July. They were fortunate enough to have crew from His Majesty’s Royal Navy ship SMB Shackleton come along to help with site maintenance.
The crew members helped move the log that is being used for a special project. They also help finish off fencing round the tomahawk throwing area before digging holes for a new fence area.
It wasn’t all work though. The crew tried tomahawk throwing for themselves. There was definitely some competitiveness amongst the crew.
Camp skipper Gary Mcluskey said “It was great having them onsite this weekend. Their visit was made extra special as it coincided with Armed Forces Day. This is a day we take to show our support for our armed forces.
It also helps us to remember our links with our armed forces as Lord Baden Powell was a former soldier who founded the movement back in 1907.”
