Be ready for Compass Freeze

Posted on

Communication from Scouts Scotland

As we get closer to our new digital tool launching, there are a number of dates that you should be aware of:

  • Thursday 24th Oct: No new roles can be added to Compass, nor PVGs initiated
  • Wednesday 6 November: Last chance to update Compass
  • Thursday 7 November: Compass will go offline and be unavailable for all volunteers to allow data to migrate, and will continue to be offline up to the go-live of the new digital system
  • Thursday 21 November: Early Adopter Regions will start to gain access to the new digital system
  • Thursday 28 November: Everyone else will start to gain access to the new digital system

Please be aware no new roles can be added to Compass, nor PVGs initiated, from 2 weeks prior to the Compass freeze.

Final actions to take prior to Compass freeze

  • Ensure you have a unique and personal email address recorded on Compass. Without this you won’t have a username for the new digital system. Read more about getting your data ready.
  • Make sure you and your team are ready for the new ways of volunteering. Find out more about how team structures and roles will change.
  • Ensure your learning is up to date and validated on Compass. Read more about the learning changes coming and what you need to do now.

Training sessions for the new digital system

From the end of October, online training sessions will be available for all members to familiarise themselves with the new digital tools. We recommend all volunteers sign up for introductory training. There will also be additional training sessions for Lead Volunteers and Team Leaders.
