This weekend Everton Campsite held two maintenance days on site. The great weather on Saturday was ideal for clearing and reinstating ditches. These will help with drainage to keep the camping areas nice and dry.
A start was made moving wind damaged trees down to the campfire area so that they can be used as firewood.
After a wet start on Sunday it brightened up. The stairs to the campfire area were repaired and the campfire area was tidied up. The storage cage was cleared out and reorganised to make it easier to access the pioneering wood and much needed wheel barrows.
The work parties also found time to gather some more pioneering poles for the upcoming competition.
Camp skipper Gary would like to thank the Scouts, Explorers and Leaders who gave up their time to come and help. “It was great to see all the people who are part of the district come together and help make improvements.”
