Big Wins for the 73rd, 10th and 70th

The sun shone on the District Scout Pioneering Competition at Everton in April when sixteen teams from eight Troops competed together for the senior and junior trophies. The scouts practiced the basic including knots, lashings, whippings and splices as well as heavier activities using levers to move a boulder, and working with pullies and ground anchors to hoist a car uphill.

They produced mini pioneering projects as well as life sized ones before the final presentations. The 73rd won the senior competition with the 10th and 42nd close behind, and a joint team from the 10th and 70th won the junior with two more teams from the 10th taking second and third places.

Thanks to the leadership team who worked so hard over the weekend and the catering team who made cooking for over 100 Scouts and Leaders look so easy. And a huge well done to all the Scouts who gained their pioneering badge over the weekend.
