Greenock Network had their first get together last week. Scout Network is the section for 18-25 year olds.
Joining is a great way to meet new people, seek out new challenges and see the world. Being a grown up shouldn’t mean you have to miss out on all the fun!
20 network members attended which is a great start, getting network working again & kick-starting awards.
This week the Scouts earned their Local Knowledge Activity Badge.
This week the 70th Beavers learned about the American holiday of Thanksgiving. We learned the Thanksgiving story then had a turkey relay race.
We sat down and ate our Thanksgiving meal together then invested our newest Beaver.
Professional Chef and Paisley Cub Leader Frank Donnelly led Birkmyre Explorers through the Chef Badge. They learned about food preparation and hygiene and then got the chance to make a delicious meal.
The Gang Show dress rehearsal took place on Monday night & the Gang are all ready to put on a fabulous show , running from Tuesday to Saturday evenings & including the matinee on Saturday afternoon.
2022 marks the return of the show after a 4 year break due to Covid 19. It is the 80th anniversary of Greenock Gang-show making it the longest running in the UK!
Over the weekend, 10 explorers from Darroch Explorer Scout Unit were presented with either their Platinum or Diamond Award. In all 7 Platinum Awards and 3 Diamond Awards were presented, with each award being very well earned.
