Orienteering Competition – Scout Section

Please see below information for the last Scouts District event of 2023. What a busy time we have had. This will take place on Sunday 26/11/23 timings will be sent out nearer the time.

The competition will be a one day event. There will be some training in the morning before lunch, we would encourage troops to do some training before the day.

They should cover how to use the map, 6 figure grid reference and how to orientate the the map with a compass.

Scouts should be dressed for the weather and bring with them in a day sack the items below.

Cost of the event is £2 per person, teams will be made up of 4 scouts, groups can enter more than one team.

We also need some help to support the checkpoints and help with the training aspect. If you can help or have any questions, can you please let Gordon Sinclair or Gary McLuskey know.
