Network Help at Kings Coronation

Posted on

3 of our Networkers have returned from Gilwell after assisting with Project Golden Orb. This was the code name given to the festivities planned around the Coronation.

Coronation day began for them at 3am.    Unfortunately it was a wet day but our Networkers represented Scotland  and supported members of the public in the crowd.

Meg was helping manage and direct the public within Hyde Park  as part of the operation. She said  “It was great to represent Scouts and Scotland at this historic event, it was encouraging to see that people relied on the scouts for assistance, it was a long day but proud of the work the Networkers put in across London.”

Gavin and Naomi attended the coronation celebrations in the crowd. They saw the procession and represented Scottish Scouting across London.

Gavin said “I’ve had such an amazing time this weekend at Gilwell. It’s been an honour to be part of such an historic event and meet new friends along the way”

Naomi said “What a fantastic 3 days. I made so many friends from all over and being able to join them and be part of the atmosphere there was epic. What a great experience to be involved with.”

The photos show the majority of the Scottish contingent involved in the project and all the Scottish representatives who attended.
